The Scarlet Begonia of 1938

THE UZENDOSKI’S ARE PURVEYORS OF PERIOD ARCHITECTURE-

They took the classical unchartered voyage through the rankings of space in Minneapolis: their beloved 1938 tudor is being presented by Rare Form following a month of curation by Design Mind Deidre Webster, to her lighting, master suite, wallhangings & finishes throughout.

This bristol tudor Revival, the SCARLET BEGONIA, is only available for deed passing due to the arrival of their dream modern cubist home. She is appropriately named due to her lavish exterior gardens, and flower power vibes of the Dead-Heads who happily crafted her interior and exterior into an oasis.

We guided them to their first investment in Tangletown- steps from what is now Patisserie 46, then its was a TANNING/LAUNDROMAT. The craftsman bungalow suited them very well- enter Clover(current class president at Keewaydin) and Waverly (the xgames gal).

‘I will never buy a tudor’.

[What do you mean by this Nic?]

I just don’t like the style, the archways, the center fireplace, the limestone facade…

I mean… maybe, if I could paint it a fun color.

The exterior development was performed early, following the elastomeric stucco coating, Nic & Mick turn their focus to the exterior and the social energy of the Nokomis neighborhood commanded some social spaces under the skies.

  • 250 square foot cedar deck installed over driveway- to serve as main floor walkout and carport for behind the main stall

  • Complete custom cedar privacy fence to back yard, with gate for vehicle access and child play zone on the driveway.

  • South side patio area with Hops Gardens, Hammock Footings for relaxation in the MN seasons

  • Raspberry Garden boxes on the east side of the sunroom, and decadence of perennials in the front and on boulevard.

The tudor firehall! Properly swept and flue capped by London Chimney. We discovered her original sconces flanking the limestone mantle, covered for decades by ignorant custodians of this classic. The coved plaster ceilings are MINT, and the wall texture is beaming tudor glory. The MAC window sets are first class equipment spec- Marvin Interiors and Monray storms throughout the house. The picture rail is solid throughout the common areas- we have a smattering of our Frank Gaard and Ciro Quintana jewels adorning her walls.

This photo below evokes our love for the modern refinement of the tudor, clean-lined fluidity from space to space, they were constructed with stately build quality and came in such generous proportions for the modern family, much better than the victorian and craftsman from eras prior.

Light exposure is photographer certified, the open flow from west to east is stem-to-stern with south facing windows!

Kitchen is a huge galley, and flows wonderfully between the rear sun-living room and the dining hall. The amendments completed are a bungalow bear approved massive milk glass schoolhouse from our friends at Arch Antiques. All of the rugs in the home are for sale. We will have a price list for those that are interested.
