Jamey & Ian's Mission Craftsman Triplex

The origins of the Duplex-Manifesto are rooted in entrepreneurship: Rare Form entered the apartment arena solely due to required rental income for mortgage qualification.

This perceived hurdle turned into the beginning of our obsession with reviving original architecture in Minneapolis. Our model is form-fitted for the self-starter who can see the ‘after’ in the ‘before’ with original architecture: enter Jamey & Ian!

The latest to join the ranks of spirited duplex owner occupants, these two pivoted from their starter home search as duplex ownership became the clearest path to achieving their newlywed life goals.

They secured a 1915 arts & crafts three flat, one of the largest structures in all of Kingfield. Her middle unit was thoroughly renovated by RFimprovement in 2018, while the main floor and attic units serve as opportunities for these two to exercise their creativity in design & their driven desire to leave their mark on 1915’s rich history.

As an accomplished interior designer, in the spirit of the duplex manifesto,  Jamey exited her life in corporate design to begin freelancing for herself. She will have her hands full curating a minimalist adaptation to the attic loft apartment, where Ian’s brother is planning to reside, as move-in timing is rapidly approaching this March.

As a couple they love to hike, camp and explore nature, taking several sabbatical style wilderness road trips to the east & west. They value the originality in classic architecture as a base from which to build from; we knew this early on as they took amazing care of one of our Spanish tudor apartments in Nokomis.

Ian & Jamey we’re extremely proud of you for trusting the process and sticking to a sound investment strategy. Maintaining focus & refusing to settle are key attributes to ‘Buying in Rare Form’, we look forward to catching up on your modernist perspective on the mission craftsman. As always with our duplex investments, the long awaited end result of the craftsman era was well worth the wait.
