The Waldorf of Windom

The Waldorf of Windom: the coveted pinnacle era of deco tudor, a classic home modernized from stem to stern for today’s family.

We procured this project tudor for Nicole & Ryan nearly a decade ago. They completed the most thorough and expansive remodel of any of our clients to date. This home is as flawless as you can climb with a 30s era structure.

We remodeled this home to be timeless, a home where unique character of its time period met modern conveniences.   We wanted a home that we could enjoy as a married couple, as a family with young children & a home that would grow with our family and never be outdated.

-  The 2.5 car garage with storage above.  You can never have a big enough garage and enough storage.  We utilized every inch of our garage & were able to keep our cars parked inside during the cold winters & hot summers.

-  The open layout of the kitchen, living room, and dining room.  Along with the extra large center island & seating area, it's a great area for entertaining & this is where we lived.  This may have been the single most important reason we bought the house.

-  Gourmet kitchen with 6 burner Kitchenaid stove top & pot filler.

-  The full depth fridge that has the appearance of counter depth & extra deep pantry

-  The media center cabinets for mail, important documents, charging computers and other devices, and the pull out printer drawer

-  Fireplace in the kitchen/living room.  It is permanently on during the fall and winter.

-  Main floor bathroom off the kitchen, but not in the kitchen.

-  Big bedrooms.  With a family of 6, big bedrooms and the big closets were a must.

-  Walk-in closet & 2nd closet in primary bedroom

-  Two-way blinds in all second floor rooms.

-  Turn off primary light with a switch next to the bed

-  Pinterest worthy primary bathroom with a spacious shower & love the custom cabinets with the center cabinet & lighting from restoration hardware.

-  The basement layout is bad ass.

-  The media room is a great place to enjoy full surround sound, snuggled up with a fire.

-  The play area for the kids with soft wool carpet

-  An office space with french doors

-  The custom built-ins and wine fridge (great for movie night, or any other night really..)

-  The designer bathroom and use of space tucked under the stairs, keeping the rest of the basement footprint open for living space

-  The workout room/guest bedroom with huge walk-in closet

-  Whole home audio/visual with 7 zones, ipad controlled, able to play music off any device connected to the wi-fi, and great sounding KEF speakers.

-  The South facing windows that let in so much natural sun light

-  The long driveway for kids bikes and scooters

-  The peace of mind that comes with being able to shut the fence gates & keep the kids in the backyard with great line of sight from the kitchen/living room area

The mudroom & main floor laundry.  Coming through the door with multiple kids and groceries in hand, it's a game changer to have a big mudroom where everyone can come in out of the winter weather, take off winter gear and have storage for it to be neatly tucked away.

The patio.  Having dinners outside during the spring/summer/fall months, listening to tunes under the flowering cherry tree.

The outdoor living space.  Having fires and cooking smores under the pergola lights
