Erickson’s Craftsman Boxcars: four identically trimmed 1925 train-car apartments
Welcome to Erickson’s craftsman four: a pristine example of pre-war arts & crafts overlooking Phelps Park in Bancroft. A Bristol example of originality that rarely endures 99 years and remains in as good of condition as the day she was constructed. How is this conditioning over 99 years possible one might ask?
The Ericksons resided in this building for nearly 40 years. The daughter in upper north unit during the 90’s and 00’s which granted the building with its current pristine condition of being cherished by tenants who valued the care and condition of her originality. The culture in the building for these 5 decades was that of respect for her lasting originality and intact trimmings from 1925.
Starting in 2014, we completed shipwright style marine refinishing to all the millwork in all units. the building possesses immense original millwork rarely seen in the multi-family landscape:
original dairy delivery ice-boxes that connect to back stairwells
shaker kitchens in all four units with laundry shoots, flour & bread bins
dining room hutches with beveled mirrors
birch and oak doors throughout the building
three part crown molding throughout the building
It has been a truly rewarding experience to witness the enthusiasm that is generated by our classic apartments.
The exterior underwent a transformation on the garage terrace with cedar privacy walls added and all new garage doors. The 4 color paint scheme was the brainchild of Studio Day Design
