Highland Park Bungalow
Katie and her boys moved into this adorable bungalow in 2012. After an engagement a few months ago, they are moving into a larger home down the street to accommodate the size of their newly blended families.
Over the last month, Katie worked with Rare Form's designer Jennifer to transform her home into a open, airy, and modern space with our favorite craftsman features. Her home is the perfect fit for a young urban buyer.
While Katie already had great taste (and was the perfect seller in terms of cleanliness, staging, and organization) - there were some paint colors she had "lived with" that needed work to make the space pop.
Under Jennifer's guidance, Nathan came in to take over the painting. With a modern white back drop, we added black enameled beadboard, white crown, and an eye-popping black picture rail.
While the boys were great sports after the loss of some of their toys, Rare Form kicked it into high gear bringing in some greenery, flowers, and staging items to fully round out the space.
This is the beautifully finished attic space - perfect for a master suite. She picked wonderful paint colors and updated the bathroom to reflect her calm and serene style.
Overall, Katie's bungalow is a rarity in Highland Park. Most homes in this area need cosmetic renovations if not extensive modernization. 671 Roy is a wonderful starter home or downsizing option and has fantastic fits and finishes to reflect it's craftsman era history while giving its owner(s) all the modern conveniences and style for 2016.
