The Remington of 1916, a surviving example of early craftsman era rarely seen in this bristol condition, nestled just blocks from the Rose Garden. Remington is a double-barrel-bungalow with intact originality and dedicated dual occupancy a truly original duplex designed in 1916 to house two families comfortably. Buildings in this preserved state are only witnessed when a great deal of the ownership history is owner occupied. This example was hand selected for the current owners from our mentor in the multi-unit world who is a passionate landlord that owned a myriad of well sorted apartments throughout South Minneapolis. For the past 20 years the Remington has been thoroughly checklist’d in both units, with the prior owner renovating the lower while the current stewards revamped the upper for their tenure as owner occupants.

the Remington of 1916 faces east on Aldrich Ave, restored skirting, new windows, and new flatwork place her on the upper end of uptown duplex stock.

The Remington is a special building due to the depth of 1916 originality that has been celebrated by her owners dating back to the late 90s: wide plank birds-eye maple hardwoods, dining built-ins with original leaded argyle doors, walnut finished oak millwork throughout both units.

Current owner occupied Remington for nearly 4 years, they fondly recall her immense walkability to lakes, mediative natural environments and restaurants. We placed this building from a mentor owner masterfully updated through two purist owners. Her build sheet is impressive: new boilers, new acorn windows throughout, attic insulation , concrete and masonry is well sorted, updated kitchens and restored baths, period correct lighting throughout both units. This is the type of building we recommend to our clients, an outstanding original specimen owned by passionate owners since the 1990s.
